Studio Kael · 38 rue Scheffer, Paris 16e
Reformer, Tower, Chair and Mat: Pilates on exceptional equipment, in private, duo or small group sessions.
In the heart of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, between Trocadéro and Passy, Studio Kael gives over two rooms to equipment Pilates: Merrithew and Peak Pilates Reformers and Towers, a Balanced Body Chair, and a light filled Mat space. Every session is built around your posture, your breath and your goals. Complete beginner or seasoned practitioner, you are guided by certified teachers who adapt each exercise to your body: deep strength, alignment, mobility, breathing. Sessions run one to one, in a duo or in a very small group, never more. Your teacher stays beside you throughout.
Deep strength : The core and the postural muscles do the work first, with no strain on the joints. Posture & alignment : Working on the equipment guides the movement precisely: you stand taller session after session. Flexibility & mobility : The springs support the stretch: your range grows with far more ease and control. A back that thanks you : Practised regularly, Pilates is one of the finest allies against back pain.
Sessions of 55 minutes on Reformer, Tower, Chair or Mat. The same rates apply to every discipline at the studio, with a member rate on the annual membership.
Yes, and it is arguably the best place to start. The springs guide and assist the movement, and your teacher sets the resistance to your level. At Studio Kael classes are kept to a small group, so the adjustments are constant and personal.
Mat work is done on the floor, using your own body weight. The equipment (Reformer, Tower, Chair) adds springs that assist or resist depending on the exercise: the work becomes more precise, deeper and more progressive. The two approaches complement each other, and the studio offers all four practices.
It is one of its best known benefits: by strengthening the deep muscles and realigning the posture, Pilates relieves most lower back pain of postural origin. Where there is a diagnosed condition, sessions can be coordinated with the osteopathy and physiotherapy available at the studio. Our teachers work in English as easily as in French, so nothing is lost in translation.
